Art for the Holidays

So it’s the holiday season again, how quickly a year has passed. Right now I have 3 pieces hanging in a gallery in Catskill, NY

Here pictures of my work you will find at the Greene County Council on the Arts in Catskill through January 8th. (This is their unique annual show, if you find something special you can buy it and take it home that day instead of having to wait.)

Also, I actually managed to open my studio to the public. (Much to my surprise and help from my boyfriend.) Sunday there was an event on my street and it was the first day people could visit. We had a few people stop by. I would have liked more but perhaps in the future and with more notice that it would be open would gather more attention.

With that in mind I intend to have it open again…. look for next post.

Earth Day & Recycled Art Show

Happy Earth Day! I hope all of you are enjoying the spring weather and being mindful. In the spirit of that I was chosen to be in an exhibit at the Greene County Council on the Arts (Catskill, NY). “Off the Walls: From Junk to Art” The guest curator was sculptor Willie Cole and the theme is recycled arts. Appropriately the opening reception is this evening 5-7pm. This show will remain up from today (April 22nd) through May 27th. I hope you’ll have a chance to visit the gallery.

You will also be able to find some of my lampshades on the second floor of the gallery.

Dinner and a (Art) Show

I organized part of an event for one of the National Alliance for Mental Illness recently, a display of art during an awards dinner. This is the third year we’ve done this and by far the best venue yet. I wanted to share photos of the art show. All of the work is by artists living with mental illness or have family that lives with it.

Thanks goes out to NAMI for including us and to all the artists for making the night more special…Charise Isis (Grace Project), Shae Jones, Theresa Klein, Winifred McCarthy, Patrick Rickson, Ruby Silvious, Jessie Staunch, and myself.
